The ubiquitous Christmas Letter, JustLinda-style…
In spite of how crazy busy I’ve been (you noticed the lack of posting, huh?) I do manage to get some cards out to some people I don’t communicate with nearly enough, and a few years back I started doing the Christmas Letter. You know, the one that everyone dreads, hates, makes fun of. I do one of those. I try to make it a little more entertaining with only a wee bit of informative thrown in for good measure. And, um, I make it rhyme.
Go ahead - make fun of me. I’ll wait.
OK, all done?
Here is the 2007 edition of the JustLinda Christmas Card newsletter. And while I’m here (in case I don’t find my way back in the next week or so), can I extend the sentiments from my Christmas letter to all of you - I wish you warmth, happiness, and laughter for the holiday season and throughout the new year!
How the heck are you?
How long has it been?
Another year’s past
and I’m writing again.
We’re all just dandy
and you wouldn’t believe
How many great things
the family’s achieved
Bill won the big one -
the Nobel Peace Prize!
He’s so very good looking
and skillful and wise!
I published that book
I’d been meaning to write -
It’s a Top 10 best-seller -
my future is bright!
Kate found a cure
for an awful disease.
Amber set out and
saved rain forest trees.
Sarah was selected
for the Olympic skate team.
Jadyn’s been appointed
to the President’s regime.
At the young age of 3,
Raena’s come very far -
She’s invented a candy
that will fuel a new car!
Each of my girls earned
a beauty queen prize
And a trophy for I.Q. –
they’re all very wise.
I might be embellishing,
perhaps just a smidge
(But if you believed me,
I’ll sell you a bridge.)
Our accomplishments are all
a bit mundane, I fear
The BIG thing we did is
survive one more year!
The kids are all healthy
and life is just great
And sure we each have so much
stuff on our plate
But we wanted to stop
and send greetings to you
Merry Christmas from us
and a great New Year, too!
