You may think it’s funny, but it’s snot.
Happy Labor Day!!
I really do think that there ought to be a special day for women whose bodies are preparing to give birth, so I’m happy to take the day off in their honor.
What?
We had a little party yesterday. Friends - I have friends. And we invited them over and they came. Along with some family people and one guy from Bill’s work. We had burgers and dogs and beer and some of us had frozen strawberry margaritas. OK, so they were all drinking beer and I was the only one who had frozen strawberry margaritas. Lots of them.
I started around 3 o’clock, so by the time I went up to lie down with the little ones at 10, I was done for, like put one foot on the floor tot stop the spinning done-for. The wives all left just before 10. I brought Jadyn and Raena up to the big bed and we promptly fell asleep after a drunken telling of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. My husband sat outside with the husbands until past midnight.
The highlight of the evening might have been when Jadyn came outside on the patio around 9:30 or so.
Jadyn: Mom, I think I have allergies.
Me: Oh, why do you think that?
Jadyn: I keep sneezing. I sneezed three times in a row and I had to wipe my snot on the couch pillow.
These are the kinds of children I am raising. You’re welcome.
Don’t worry - I’ve resolved the issue of the snotty pillow. I turned it upside down and you can’t see anything. (What? I was drunk. I don’t do drunk laundry and spot-cleaning.)
Happy Labor Day to all us laborers who make work places better, safer, and (most importantly) more fun. I dedicate this Labor Day to all you fabulous bloggers out there because you definitely make my work days more enjoyable!
