Be careful what you ask for…
I miss my babies. I always do when I’m out of town. My husband was telling me about some awfully cute thing my baby girl did and said and I got a little weepy. She’s growing up so fast! I can’t believe she’s over two years old.
“It’s going too fast!” I said. “She’s our last one and it’s just flying by. I want to stop it now. How can we keep her JUST as she is?” I lamented.
“Taxidermy?” he asked.
Smart ass.
One more day of work and then one more night in this forlorn hotel and then one more day of flying and then I’ll be home. My feet are killing me - so much walking (and not just to find McDonald’s either). We went out for tapas tonight and had a great time. I’m really very lucky - I have a great boss and wonderful coworkers and I get these exciting opportunities to go places and eat lots of foods and experience lots of things. I am lucky. And I’m good at my job. Coming to these quarterly meetings and reconnecting with my peers helps me to reaffirm that - I am very good at what I do. Sometimes I forget that.
Still, I’m ready to go home and see my babies before they are stuffed and hung on the wall over the fireplace. (Although? Some days….)
