When corporate dronedom meets the mommy domain…

I bitch and complain about my life in corporate dronedom and I bitch and complain about my life at home where I’m knee deep in Happy Meal toys. But the truth is these are the things that make me who I am and I’m a happy person so evidently bitching and complaining must make me happy (see how logical I am?).

Sometimes I think the job is encompassing too much of my life.

Sometimes I worry about the overlap…

I mean, when my daughter handed me her balanced business scorecard report card and I asked her if she had reached her targets potential on the various key performance indicators school subjects, she gave me a blank look and I knew I had mixed up my two worlds. It happens all the time.

We recently had a staff meeting family discussion about domestic objectives chores. My daughter wanted a cost of living raise merit increase bigger allowance because she turned 9 and has become the domestic outsource provider is now doing more work. She is succumbing to thought leadership peer pressure that has her scrambling to save up to requisition new assets buy some cool sneakers. I told her that if she meets her stretch targets rises to meet my expectations does what she’s suppose to, she would get the shoes as a bonus reward.

She is also complaining in other areas and is seeking a promotion move to her own bedroom. It might be a good time for that because I’ve received 360 degree feedback complaints from her siblings that she works overtime stays up late reading with the light on. I’m trying to fast track expedite her request, but my husband is the key enabler lackey who has to move the furniture around so I need to figure out how to make it a win-win how many sexual favors will get the job done.

So the negotiations discussions about an increase in allowance and bedroom move will continue until we can find an integrated solution idea that works for us all. For now, we decided to take a break from scrutinizing the bottom line worrying about the family budget and instead attended an offsite team building event went to the playground. Sometimes you have to cut loose with some discretionary expediture mad money in order to raise the team morale make the kiddos happy.

The downside sucky part is that you end up knee deep in Happy Meal toys. The net positive result good part is that this gives you more stuff to bitch and complain about, which gives you (well, me) job security blog-material security.

Just wanted to share these results ramblings with my shareholders readers.

(the insirpiration for this post comes from one of the funniest blog entries I’ve read at Breed ‘em and Weep)
