Dedicated to all you Bloggers who are Baking a Bun…
I can’t believe how many blogs I read by women in various stages of pregnancy. Wow. Does blogging make one horny? My husband will be glad to hear that.
Anyway, I thought I’d share a little ditty that I wrote while I was all knocked up with Jadyn, now 3 1/2 (otherwise known as the Evil Manipulator). You didn’t know I was one of those obnoxious, mediocre poets, did you? Well, now you do. I promise not to push it on you too often, but occasionally I feel the need to put one out there. The ultrasound picture is of my little Raena, even though the poem was written for Jadie-Beth.
The Birth of Love (c) JustLinda
We’ve never met, nor have we spoke
I don’t yet know your name
And yet in spite of all these things
I love you just the sameI’ve never layed my eyes on you
I’ve never heard your voice
And yet I give my heart to you
(as if it were a choice!)I eagerly await your touch
I long to smell your scent
Until that day, I’ll nurture you
The time will be well spentYou’ll learn of me from deep within
My moods, my moves, my sounds
You’ll grow inside me week by week
(I’ll not resent THESE pounds!)And one day not so far from now
You’ll make your big debut
Into this world you will be born
And I will welcome youAnd though we will have newly met
We both will surely know
Our LOVE was born a different day
About nine months ago
Oh, come on - you’re just DYING to link up your pregnant blogging friend to this, right??? Yes, it’s an emotional tactic to appeal to the hormonally unbalanced in a shameless effort to generate some traffic and get me more comments. I’m all about the EGO. You have my blessing - link all your pregnant friends to this little work of art, I double-dog-dare you! (does my desparate attention-whoring know no bounds? evidently it does not)
