Proving once and for all that I’m an excellent mother…

Published by JustLinda under LINdiscriminate Drivel

Last weekend, we were in the car driving somewhere and the two youngest ones were in their car-seats playing.

I hear the 4 year old saying “Shoot, shoot.”  She means “Bang, bang.” or even “Pow, pow.” but I haven’t really educated them on fake gunplay so they’re doing the best they can.

The 6 year old says “You’re DEAD.  I shot you.”

I turned around and said “Girls, can’t you play something that’s more polite?”

They’re quiet for a minute.  OK, really it was more like 40 seconds, but still…

Then the 6 year old springs back into action.  “Shoot, shoot.  You’re passed away.”

Makes a mother proud.

And how are YOU?  I hope you’re doing well.  Enjoying the fall weather?  We’ve done a little apple picking, a lot of soccer games, some cleaning of a garage, stuff like that.  Mostly life revolves around work at the moment.  Unless… well, if you’re a writing scout looking for some new talent, a unique voice, the voice of slackitude and procrastination, by all means whisk me away from here.

My surgery was officially denied.  I don’t know what to do now.  The good news is that open enrollment is just around the corner and I found out this week that my existing insurance company will be on the menu.  So at least I know it’s still a possibility assuming I jump through another six months of hoops they put in front of me.

Bill and I are going to Vegas in a month.  Maybe I’ll buy me that lapdance I’ve always wanted.  (Did I say that out loud??)  It would be great if I won a big ‘ol jackpot like last time (seven hundred and forty two dollars! or something like that…)

I haven’t had much writing inspiration lately, I’m afraid.  Part of it is work stuff just taking up all of my brain cells.  OK, well, that’s most of it.  I actually came out to play tonight and visited some of your blogs, some of the blogs linked here from my blog.  You are all such cool people - I love reading your stuff.  I wish I could visit more.

Take care, my internet friends.  Stop and say HI if you get a chance.  Or just think of me when you pop a red skittle in your mouth.
